Safe Families Canada mobilizes a compassionate community of vetted volunteers to support families facing significant life stressors, such as medical emergencies, mental health challenges, first time moms, newcomers to Canada, and domestic violence. So many families in our city do not have a healthy social network, and this makes them vulnerable during times of crisis. Safe Families Canada - Ottawa is there for those times. Our incredible volunteers walk alongside parents offering support and guidance as they navigate through their challenging circumstances, and we are able to temporarily provide their child a safe place with a Host Family. This is all voluntary so that the parent retains custody of their child. Children Safe, Families Together! You can donate to this amazing cause during your registration process or on the event day. A large number of the race-day volunteers will be from Safe Families Canada - Ottawa.
